I had the opportunity to try out Sportsheetโ€™s Sex and Mischief Bondage Tape recently.

Let me start out by telling you that I had a whole lot of fun with the tape. Iโ€™d heard good things and bad things about bondage tapes, and so I really wanted to put this package through its paces. EdenFantasies sent me a 30 foot roll of bright red tape (it also comes in pink and black). At two inches in width, this bondage tape is reminiscent of duct tape with a few key differences. Bondage tape is a bit of a misnomer: itโ€™s not actually tape, because thereโ€™s no adhesive. This tape sticks only to itself. Also, unlike duct tape, bondage tape is somewhat reusable.

Hereโ€™s why Iโ€™d recommend you get some of this bondage tape:

Unlike an adhesive tape, you donโ€™t have to worry about peeling off any skin layers when you unbind your partner. You wonโ€™t even pull any hair. You can use this tape on any body surface and you wonโ€™t have to worry. And when I say โ€˜anyโ€™ I mean ~any~. I used this tape on ankles, to make certain a certain lovely lady wasnโ€™t going anywhere, on yet another cutie pie to bind her arms behind her back, around the torso of a very hot man to create a faux corset and I mummified (leaving a gap for his nostrils) the head of one of my favorite submissives.

This tape, used within the limits of what itโ€™s good for, is great.

You can create lovely lines of vivid color across your partnerโ€™s body, you can restrain limbs, you can create a blindfold or gag with it and you can use it to restrain someone by wrapping a limb to a chair leg or arm. If you do choose to use it to create a gag, please do make certain to check with the person youโ€™re gagging to make sure they have no allergies; this tape is made of PVC, and in the words of the person who wound up gagged with it โ€œit tastes like floatiesโ€ (the things you use in the pool to stay afloat in the summer. No, I donโ€™t know why they were chewing on floaties either. My friends are awesome.)

This tape, if you expect it to behave outside of what itโ€™s good for, could be a bit problematic.

Wrapped around a body, there are a couple issues to keep in mind. The tape has a tendency to roll; the faux-corset I created, while looking incredibly hot, rolled up his waist and down his chest. As it rolled, it actually got tighter. PVC does stretch, but not by much. If you too tightly constrict a person with this tape, you could conceivably cut off circulation or interfere with breathing. Please be aware of this. Unlike rope bondage, you canโ€™t exactly put a finger into this tape to ensure circulation space.

This is a PVC product, as well. It does not breathe. Wrapped around a body part, that body part will sweat, said sweat will accumulate inside the tape and does exacerbate the rolling problem, as well as quickly becoming uncomfortable.

Sex and Mischief Bondage Tape is not really meant for hardcore or extreme bondage. It just wonโ€™t hold up to that. One of the people who wound up all wrapped up amused herself by escaping from it. It was a challenge, but it was definitely possible for her to get herself out of it in under 15 minutes. Do not use this bondage tape as if it were a rope replacement in shibari or rope bondage.

In addition, while some reviewers have pointed out that technically this product is reusable, Iโ€™d have to say that unwrinkling it and respooling it onto the spool is too much of a pain in the ass for me. I would need to have a dedicated submissive or slave to do that for me, and frankly, there are more fun things I can think of to spend my time on. If you do decide to reuse the bondage tape, you may want to cut out any portions that came into contact with bodily fluids or mucous membranes.

In conclusion, I really like bondage tape.

I want to get some more of this product so I can experiment further with it! I want to find out if it really does stay on in a hot tub; I also have a couple of ideas for things to do with this bondage tape and a willing stunt cock. Iโ€™m picturing taking a nice hard cock and wrapping it up like a Christmas package and then teasing the hell out of it. (Oh, it transmits sensations really well, distorting touches just enough to make them entertaining and new.)
