I swear, every time I get a client on the phone, or in a sexy texting session, if they’re interested in feminization they inevitably are overthinking gender. Sure, it’s a complex subject that affects every part of our lives, but it’s also not that deep. I suspect there’s a pursuit of perfection coming into play, and a desire to really ‘pass’ as the gender you’d like to explore. So, let’s unpack those ideas and see if we can’t get y’all past that overthinking handicap!
Overthinking Gender
Feminization can be really easy. But, a lot of people twist themselves up by assuming they must do the gender ‘the right way’, without stopping to consider that there is no one way to be a woman. Consider, if you will, Winona Ryder and Gwendoline Christie. Winona is five foot three, while Gwendoline is six foot three. They’re both incredible actors, sexy women, and fierce examples of powerful femininity. And there’s a solid foot of height between them. There is no one, true and perfect, way to be a woman! If you’re stuck thinking that there is, you’re sabotaging yourself.
Perfection Is Overrated
Each individual person needs to find their own personal version of what is ‘perfect’ for themselves. You could be a muscle ladden tall and statuesque badass of a woman who will bench press a weak little bigot for daring to call you ‘sir’, or you could be a waif thin manic pixie dream girl. Or maybe you yearn to be a six foot tall pixie dream girl! Or a tiny dynamite with an attitude of steel! Find your perfection, and don’t let other people tell you how your version of a feminized sissy, trans girl, or woman should be. Trust me, I’ve spent my life demanding the right to define my own perfection, so you can do it too.
Passing Can Be Fun, (or it could hold you back)
For the overthinking gender olympics, let me introduce you to the toxic notion that one must ‘pass’. To pass as the gender you’d like to explore, one must perform said gender perfectly, to the standards set by society and culture. I think you know my opinion on that! To society and the world at large, the way a woman looks and acts in the world must meet certain standards. In many ways I do meet those standards, and in others, I really don’t. You can look at any ‘tradwife’ content to see the ways in which I fail to meet the standards for ‘feminine behavior’. If even I fail to meet the standards set by some subcultures for proper femme behavior, I think you can let go of the need to ‘pass’, too.
Stop Overthinking Gender!
Let’s get you past the whole overthinking gender expression issue by skipping straight to the ‘doing’ part of the performing gender thing. You absolutely cannot do it wrong! Some women are hirsute, some are tall and built, some are fat, some are sadists and some are masochists. Be YOUR sort of woman, or sissy, or feminized slut.
