If you’ve been paying attention to  current events in the world, then you already know that there’s a lot of social unrest and upset out there. I want you to know that it’s perfectly fine to give yourself permission to take care of yourself, and your emotional needs, first. If a global pandemic with extra social unrest on top is just too much to deal with, you’re allowed to have a time out and take a break. Remember that masturbation boosts your immune system and can help build resilience for dealing with stress. You can take time to crank one out! After all, masturbation for stress relief is a valid and real thing!

If you’d like to take your stress relief routine to the next level, keep on reading!

Stress Relief and Reduction Harper 800 601 7259While masturbation alone can definitely boost your immune response, reduce stress, and help build resiliency for dealing with stress, unrest, and upset, there’s more you can do! Not just wanking alone, you can add all sorts of tactics to your stress relief arsenal. For example, did you know that you can use some breathing techniques to reduce your stress? It’s true! the way that you breathe, and hold energy through your breath, can influence your stress levels. Try breathing in deeply, holding your in-drawn breath slightly, and then blowing out. It’s a simple breath pattern, but studies have shown it can reduce your cortisol levels within minutes!

Stress happens to us all.

Stress is what happens any time your routine is disrupted or changed. You can experience stress over all sorts of things, even things that your rational mind may think are totally silly and not worth getting upset over! And that, getting upset over being stressed out, can cause, yep, you guessed it. More stress! The best possible way to deal with stressing out over being stressed is to accept that stress happens to everyone. While learning to modulate your own emotional responses to the world can be the task of a lifetime, when you find yourself mad at yourself for being stressed over ‘nothing’, try some mantras or affirmations. Say to yourself, out loud if you can, that “stress happens to everyone”. Or perhaps “I am stressed, and now I will deal with my stress in a constructive manner.” Your stress relief toolbox is worthless if you can’t acknowledge up front that you’re stressed to begin with!

What’s your stress relief look like?

Everyone has little things that we do to deal with stress. Maybe you mindlessly scroll social media for a while (that may backfire on you, since right now social media is full of stressful things!) Perhaps you like to get into the kitchen and bake! I’ve known people who deal with their stress by reading stories, or writing epic fantasies and publishing them online. Some people garden, or collect stamps, or make art to channel their stress. But far too many people’s stress relief looks like doing nothing at all. They don’t acknowledge that they are stressed, and therefore they don’t take the time to deal with their stress at all! If this is you, don’t worry too much. It can take some time and effort to get to where you can see and deal with your stresses.

The ultimate stress relief tactic:

The absolute ultimate stress relief tactic is, of course, to eliminate whatever it was that was stressing you out. Job stress? How about a new career? Stress over making a mortgage payment? Consider going for a tiny house, or downsizing in general, or perhaps moving to a less expensive zip code. Stress over a life partner who won’t tell you what turns them on? A good long conversation can help! There are ways to confront and deal with whatever is stressing you out head on. And for a lot of stressful situations, dealing with the stressor directly is best. But, there are things in every life that are stressful that just cannot be eliminated entirely. Bills will always exist, and illness will always be a concern. There will be things in the world that suck, and are upsetting, and that you just cannot make go away all on your own. Try looking for natural allies, for folks to work with, to build community with and mutual support. Or, you can always go for stress reduction, if elimination is totally out of the picture.

Reduce your stress proactively!

You can, as I mentioned, build resiliency towards stress! Did you know that some people deal with stress better than others, because they are more resilient in the first place? And that you can create resiliency toward stress? You may not be able to eliminate stress, or reduce it entirely, but you can learn to build your reserves and ability to deal with stress. Create for yourself healthy coping mechanisms and stress relief habits! Identify things that make you feel happy, healthy, and content. Those are your stress resiliency builders. The more you can shore yourself up with things that make you relaxed and happy, the better able you will be to face stress and bounce back from it. What habits do you have that create relaxation, and what habits ultimately stress you out? More of the former, less of the latter! And of course, remember that sexual activity, so long as it’s not stressing you out, is good for you!

Masturbation and a nice healthy orgasm can be at the very top of your list of stress reduction techniques. Nothing distracts you from the stressful things in the world quite like being so turned on and horny that you can’t think straight. So, run with it! Go for it, try finding you happy place, and your zen, and then wanking until you feel better. You’ll be amazed at how good a nice long wank session can make you feel. Masturbate, jerk off, spank the monkey, take the trouser snake for a walk, and just, enjoy a guilt free stress reducing orgasm or two!

To sum up all the stress relief advice for you:

Identify where your stress is coming from, and then try to either reduce or eliminate it! You can’t deal with a stress that you can’t see or acknowledge, so, find the stressful things in your life. Build healthy coping mechanisms, like hobbies and activities that bring you relaxation and happiness. Try some breathing patterns, affirmations, or mantras to reduce stress. And, of course, remember that masturbation can reduce stress, boost your immune system, and build greater resiliency for dealing with stress, so jerk off and have some fun.
