I don’t write about politics.

I know that what ya’ll are coming here for is some sex, and some kink, and a little harmless fun. So if you decide that you just really don’t want your fun ruined with real world issues… actually, you’re in the totally wrong place. Because I do write about politics, all the time.

I write about sissies and fags.

Transgender people, queer people, people with sexualities that were undreamt of in the 1950’s, are all fair game for this particular blog. I’ve written about all sorts of non-mainstream sexuality here, in hopes of educating my readers as well as helping people come to accept themselves and others.

I write about sex.

If ever there was a more politically charged topic than sex, I’d like to hear about it. Sex and sexuality Mistress Harper 800 356 6169are hot button issues right now, wrangled over and fought over in every fora we have. Over the dinner table, in our places of business and now, in the halls of our legislatures. Sex, the consequences of sex, who gets to do what to whom and when, all on the tips of our tongues and forefront of our minds.

DOMA was struck down.

The Defense of Marriage Act was struck down. Within minutes of that ruling, another court stopped the deportation of a gay married man. We’ve already seen positive effects from the ending of DOMA. Our GLB married soldiers can now be treated equally under the law, and this is a very good thing.

Tuesday night, I watched a livestream.

I watched the Texas State Senate, live over the internet, as they fought back and forth over Senate Bill 5, a bill which would close down all but 5 women’s health clinics in the state. Let me tell you, I cried. When the cheers started, I cried. I wish I could have been there to scream myself hoarse with them. Senator Wendy Davis has earned my undying love and admiration, as did Senator Leticia van de Putte. Ladies, I am in awe of you.

I will always advocate in the direction of more personal freedom.

As a woman, issues around women’s health are important to me. I find any man’s attempts to effect control over my body and my behavior to be so terribly abhorrent. No matter what any person chooses in the end, the fact of that choice must remain theirs and theirs alone to exercise.

You can choose to suck a cock, you can choose to wear panties, you can choose to make a heart-wrenchingly difficult decision; it is your choice, ultimately. I’ve pointed out before that you can choose to find a scapegoat, someone to blame for your choice, but that choice is still YOURS. You make that decision, you bear the responsibility for it.

Readers, I have a request for you.

As the issues surrounding women’s reproductive health become more and more central to our political discourse, I want you to take your time coming to any conclusions. I want you to think in terms of what is most likely to increase personal freedom, in terms of compassion, in terms of what is truly most likely to benefit all our communities. Just, take a little time and think. And, if you need someone to bounce ideas off of, I’m always here. You can email me at harper@enchantrixempire.com, and I’ll talk feminism and women’s health and positive sexuality at you until your ears fall off.

I want to close by thanking Senator Davis for standing up on Tuesday. Thank you. Thank you. Thank every god for you.
