If you’re interested in sissy clothes beyond panties, it can be a little confusing!

Panties for a Slutty Sissy on a Laundry Line 800 601 7259In 1958 in the United States, there was a set of standardized measurements and sizing recommendations made, that were set aside in 1983 and ever since women’s clothes have just been all over the place with regard to size. A size 14 in one brand might be a 16 in another, or a 10! And that’s why, if you’re looking for sissy clothes beyond panties, you need a tape measure. Ok, yeah, that’s confusing. Let me back up.

The very first thing you need to know if you’re gonna be a sissy is your measurements.

Get yourself a tape measure, because trying to use a ruler on your ribcage is a recipe for disaster. You’ll want to measure your chest, bust, waist, and hips, as these are the sets of measurements that women’s clothes are based on. Men’s clothes are usually based on chest, neck, waist, inseam, and arm length. Measure yourself while standing, with the tape measure parallel to the floor. For your chest, measure under your arms but above the thickest part of your bust. Your bust is the thickest portion of your chest over your pectorals. The waist measurement is the narrowest portion of your torso, above the hips and below the ribs (although if you’re thicker set, measure the thickest portion of your torso, too.) To get your hip measurement, go for the thickest portion of your pelvis.

After you’ve got your measurements:

Head to the internet, and find the maker and designer’s website for the clothes you’d like to buy. They’ll have a sizing chart! Look up by your size to find out what size in that brand you’ll want to try, and then, go try the clothes on. Because women’s clothes sizes aren’t standardized, and vary from brand to brand, you’ll want to try the clothes on to find the best fit for you. This is why women’s shopping trips take so long: we really do need to actually try on the outfits before we buy, just to ensure the clothes fit. Where men’s jeans are sized by waist/inseam in actual inches, women’s are sized by evidently tossing a dart at a number chart and then averaging by the moon sign and latitude.

There are a few general rules of thumb to keep in mind when shopping for women’s clothes.

You can take your waist measurement and subtract 21 to get a rough idea of what size women’s pant you’d wear. Add 1.5 or 2 to get your women’s shoe size, and remember that everything called Small, Medium, and Large are relative, and that just means you’ll need to try them on to figure out what size you need. If you’re ordering online, check out the return policy first, to make sure you can send back clothes that don’t fit; heck, in-person shopping, make sure you understand the return policy, too! You can purchase clothes to try on at home, but make sure you can bring them back before the return window closes, lest you be stuck with clothes that don’t work for you. And, never be ashamed to return clothes that just don’t fit! You deserve to look your best, no matter what you’re wearing, and no one should be stuck in uncomfortable, ill fitting clothes!
